E-Learning Day Announced Amid Strong Wind Advisory

**Strong Winds Prompt E-Learning Day for Spartanburg District Six Schools**

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for portions of northeast Georgia, the Piedmont and western North Carolina, and Upstate South Carolina. The advisory will be in effect from 4:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph are expected, with gusts possibly reaching up to 50 mph.

In response to the advisory, Spartanburg District Six schools have announced that students will have an E-learning day on Wednesday. State regulations do not allow bus operations when wind gusts exceed 45 mph due to safety concerns. The district aims to prioritize the safety of students and staff by adjusting to the changing weather conditions.

Students and parents can expect communication from teachers regarding any assignments to be completed during this E-learning day, with instructions varying by grade level.

The National Weather Service has warned that the high winds may cause unsecured objects to blow around, tree limbs to fall, and potential power outages. Residents in the impacted areas are advised to secure loose items and exercise caution.

Stay tuned to local updates and follow safety recommendations during the advisory period.
